TCMSV3 is the Windows based Time and Attendance software that works with your FingerTec time clocks (like the TA500).
Think of it as the place where all your clock-in and clock-out data gets collected and organised, so you can easily see who came to work, when they arrived, and when they left.
It collects the employees clocking data from your fingerprint, facial or card-reading devices, and puts that information into the software on your computer.

How many employees can the FingerTec TA500 handle?
The TA500 stores up to 2,000 fingerprint templates and 80,000 transaction logs. It works best for businesses with up to 100 employees on a single device. If your team is larger than that, you can simply add more devices and connect them all through the TCMSV3 software on your computer.
Does the FingerTec TA500 need internet to work?
No. The TA500 is an on-premise fingerprint time clock, which means it stores all clocking data directly on the device itself. It connects to your computer through your local network or USB, so your staff can keep clocking in and out even if your internet goes down.
What happens if the power goes out?
The TA500 has a built-in rechargeable battery that keeps it running for up to 2 hours during a power outage, with up to 4 hours on standby. Your staff can still clock in and out as normal and no data is lost.
Does the TA500 work with Xero or MYOB?
Yes. The TCMSV3 software that comes included with the TA500 lets you export attendance data that feeds directly into Xero and MYOB. No more manually entering hours into your payroll system at the end of each week.
What if an employee cannot be read by the fingerprint scanner?
No problem. The TA500 supports fingerprint, PIN, and optional RFID card verification. If someone has a cut, dry skin, or worn fingertips and the scanner is struggling to read them, they can clock in using their PIN instead. Nobody gets locked out.
Does the TA500 store actual fingerprint images?
No, and this is one of the most common questions we get asked. The TA500 only stores an encrypted mathematical code based on the fingerprint, not an image of it. That code cannot be converted back into a fingerprint and cannot be used for anything outside the device. Your employees' biometric data is completely safe.
Is the TCMSV3 software included or do I pay extra?
TCMSV3 is included at no extra cost when you purchase the TA500. There are no ongoing subscription fees for the standard on-premise version. You pay once for the device and that is it.
What computer does the TCMSV3 software need?
TCMSV3 runs on Windows. You will need a Windows-based desktop or laptop connected to your local network to install it. It does not run on Mac natively.
How long does setup take?
Most businesses are up and running within a few hours. You unpack and mount the device, install TCMSV3 on your Windows computer, connect the device to your network, and you are ready to start enrolling staff fingerprints.
